Areas We Serve
How much does it cost?
A good target cost for application of Flexmar Polyaspartic coating, to an area 1200 square feet or less, is roughly $7.00/square foot. This could be more or less depending on the condition of the floor, moisture content and a number a number of other factors.
Cabinetry is a bit trickier because the cabinets come in so many different sizes, shapes and configurations. It’s difficult to accurately price a system of cabinets for a particular application. Something that is absolutely free however, is an in-home consultation where we accurately measure the area and develop a 3 dimensional computer generated model of what your cabinets will look like.
Where are the products made?
Shelco Flooring and Storing is an authorized agent for Redline Garagegear. Redline is a subsidiary of Greenburg Casework. Both Redline and Greenburg oar located in South Beloit Illinois. The cabinets are made in America by American workers.
ShelCo Flooring and Storing is also an authorized installer of Flexmar Coatings. Flexmar is based in New Kensington Pennsylvania with production facilities in Pennsylvania and New York.
Doing business with ShelCo Flooring and Storing employs americans and supports the American economy.
How long does It take?
The consultation and design of your cabinets will take as long as necessary. We will take the time to provide the right cabinetry system to suit your needs. More than anything else, your satisfaction is our top priority.
The installation of your cabinets should only take a day, or two, maybe three if we’re installing Flexmar polyaspartic coating to the floor.
Most flooring jobs take no more than 2 days. One day to prepare the floor and make any necessary repairs and, one day to apply the Flexmar coating.
What is this polyaspartic stuff anyway?
Polyaspartic floor coatings are similar to epoxy floor coatings. They are both two component compounds that are mixed together in a given ratio, applied to a surface and allowed to cure. The differences lie on the molecular level but, the difference most important to the homeowner is in the cure time. Flexmar Polyaspartic coatings cure to the point that they can be walked on in 1-2 hours whereas epoxys can take as much as 48 hours. This allows us the ability to complete a job with minimal interruption to your life.
I can go to a big-box store and get an epoxy flooring kit. What makes yours so different?
Besides the faster cure time just mentioned there are some other significant differences. First and foremost is the durability. The Flexmar Coatings three coat high build vinyl chip system is applied at 15 to 25 mil. The epoxy coating system you’re likely to find at a big-box store will be applied at only 3-5 mil. Which will scratch more easily and be more prone to damage and hot tire pickup. (see associated photo). An additional difference is in surface preparation. We use a mechanical grinding process that roughens and removes any impurities from the surface and gives the Flexmar coating a suitable surface to adhere to.
I can also go to a big-box store to get cabinetry. What makes yours so different?
A Redline Garagegear cabinet system is designed and built specifically to suit your needs. There are over 500 different cabinet and workbench configuration to choose from. Redline Garagegear cabinets are designed for the garage environment. The powder coated finish seals all exterior surfaces leaving no seams or cracks to allow moisture to penetrate. What you’re likely to find in a big-box store is a cabinet that has been laminated with some covering that leaves a seam at each corner. That’s 12 chances for moisture to enter each panel and wreak havoc on your very expensive yet very cheaply made cabinets.
Similarly, the cabinets you’ll find in a big-box store stand on the floor where they’re at the mercy of the floor’s slope and can, again, suffer water damage. Redline Garagegear cabinets are mounted on the wall so they’ll always be level, never in contact with water on the floor and, they come with a lifetime warranty.
Metal cabinets are made from a thin sheet of metal that relies on a strengthening rib or bends in the metal to make them rigid. Grab the corner of one of the doors, give it a shake and you’ll see the amount of flex. Redline Garagegear cabinets are made of solid wood, there is no flex.
This is not an exhaustive list by any means. Call (412) 337-9619 today, to set up your absolutely free in home consultation, and we’ll show you what makes us the better choice.
